lapbandcutie 2 Posted October 25, 2013 How do you experienced banders deal with sweets? I have sugar free popsicle the dr said I can have but that isnt doing the job. I don't eat a lot of sweets but when I do its on the sugarfree side anyway. Any suggestions? Sent from my SCH-I545 using LapBandTalk
mrsto 2,925 Posted October 25, 2013 There are some excellent Protein Bars out there. Those do it for me every time I like different ones, but Atkins has some that taste exactly like some candy bars on the shelves. But they do not have the sugar and carbs of candy, and they don't spike blood sugar. I feel like I'm doing something bad when eating one.....they're THAT good 2 Marroko777 and ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this

I♡BypassedMyPhatAss♡ 804 Posted October 26, 2013 I don't crave sweets. When I stopped eating simple carbs, and even extremely limiting my complex carbs, it helped break that horrible sugar craving 1 2muchfun reacted to this
DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! 12,703 Posted October 26, 2013 Honestly, if I am REALLY craving something sweet and haven't had any treats in awhile, I just have a little bit of what I'm craving. So if I'm craving chocolate, I'll have a single candy bar and just count the calories towards my daily total. Again, it's not a regular thing. I'd say I do it about once a month. I just firmly believe the band is about moderation not deprivation so if I really want something- I have it. 2 mrsto and Kimmy89 reacted to this
LapbandLo 294 Posted October 26, 2013 I rarely get sugar cravings but I have been wanting a reece's Peanut Butter cup for a couple of weeks now. Since the craving didn't go away I had two mini Reece's cups from the small bin at a Halloween store. It was the perfect amount to curb the craving and it was less than 100 calories. Just add to your daily caloric intake and always do sweets in moderation 1 mrsto reacted to this

B-52 7,113 Posted October 26, 2013 I no longer have sugar cravings anymore since being banded....but sometimes I;ll eat a hershey's bar or whatever....and I have ice cream often... I don't sweat the small stuff, or worry about the calories, I'm no longer dieting........I look at the big picture...what did I eat the entire day, as compared to what I USED to eat in a entire day....and the answer is VERY LITTLE.... Those days lead to weeks, that lead to months, and eventually leads to a lifetime...a new lifestyle with a new way of eating, and less of it....never having to worry about dieting or gaining weight again. At least that's my story and experience....many others have a different approach....as long as you're successful, what does it matter.
