Do anyone know if I could if screwed up my band. I just got it yesterday and liquids are creamy hot Soups go down just fine. I got too confident and had cold power aid well you know what happen next. Yup it made my stomach turn and I got sick. I feel ok now and went back to hot liquids but how bad is it to vomit on day 1

I guess we're band twins in more ways than 1! But I did it with a cold Protein Shake. Yikes! Did you full on vomit or just let it slide back up? I kept mine down with lots of pain and nausea and sweating but I'd probably call my doctors office if I had actually heaving and vomiting just to make sure I was ok.

I am guessing this one day post op diet was what the Dr. instructed? I was on clear liquids.. hot or cold for a week then moved gradually to full liquids.. perhaps you need to back down to Clear Liquids and see how that works... or call your Dr. or nutritionist to make sure what you supposed to be doing.. vomiting is never good with the band.. if it continues definitely call your Dr.

Yes, vomiting in general can cause a slip. I had a slip with full on stomach flu projectile vomiting a few years ago. The kids brought home the bug from school. So I had a house full of germs.

Are you supposed to be on Soups? I was on clear liquids for a while (weeks) after surgery. Even after each fill I'm on clear liquids for a few days before full liquids then mushies.

Post-op it's important to follow the rules: little sips of liquids. And warm liquids (broth, tea, etc) are ideal if you're really swollen.

I'm suppose to be on liquids or any creamy soups. I did fine with those but I chugged cold power aid and was ok then I went to lay down and turned into the exorcist with vomit after that I heaved for about thirty seconds until I caught my breath. I'm fine now I guess I just hope I didn't hurt anything inside

My Dr said I can have anything that I'd be able to drink through a straw for the first week and then move to mushies. Unlike some of you that can have Jell-o during liquids, doc said none of that- you can't suck it through a straw!

Sweetie- I'd just call your surgeons office and let them know. They may want to check up on it but hopefully you'll be okay. I'm definitely finding warm liquids feel much better and settle much more nicely in this crazy tummy!

Really follow the rules the letter it is so important. dont get to this point and test the bsnd and looking for ways to get around it..it can be painful and dangerous. This will change your life and it is so worth the effect...Treat yourself and band like the Qween you are and always call doctor if you vomit..I didnt and I was so sorry.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
