I am 9cc in a 10cc and still feel like I need more restriction..Scared. Anyone else in this situation?

I have stalled out on weight loss, as a matter of fact I have gained 2 lbs. I am 9 months out and lost 47lbs. I am struggling with eating the right foods and really bad at portion control...I am eating a lot less than pre op but still too much. I just know I've stretched my pouch.

I feel out of control with food, just like I did prior to my surgery..

If you have indeed stretched your pouch, this could effect your hunger control. This is one of the many reasons it's so important to monitor your portions so you don't over eat and stretch your pouch.

Keep in mind the band isn't meant to physically stop you from eating anything nor is it meant to force you to stick to band sized portions. Way too often people end up with bands too tight trying to achieve this- and band complications as a result.

The band is meant to control your hunger and if you're eating until "full" you're eating too much. The idea is to stop when you're satisfied, not full. If you listen to your band, it'll tell you when you've had enough, but that doesn't mean you can't still eat beyond that point if you wanted to.

Here's a link that will help: http://drsimpson.net/fills/Lap-band-eating/lap-band-not-restriction/lap-band-and-restriction.html

Best wishes

What does your doc or nutritionist have to say? They're the experts and if you think your pouch is dilated don't mess around. Get in to see your doc. BTW-What are you eating?

If you have that much Fluid in your band and not feeling satisfied for 3 to 4 hours on a small amount of food then you will not feel satisfied at 10cc's I think you have the meaning of restriction not right. It will not restrict the amount of food you can eat it will keep you from being hungry for 3 to 4 hours. That is restriction.

Thank you all so much for the input. I already knew all of this I think I just needed to see it from others point if view.. To be honest I'm afraid of admitting my failure to my Dr. so I have yet to tell him, I have an appt. this Friday so I will talk to him then. As far as what do I eat, well whatever I want minus some really fatty foods and candy. I just eat in moderation. The biggest positive is that I work out a lot and I believe that is why I have lost weight.

Are u eating 'slider' foods? Any junk foods like ice cream or high calorie drinks? Potato chips? Breads?

I cant wait to get from my current 6.5 to at least 8cc's in my 10cc band hoping 8cc's will give me that restriction to finally see a significant weight loss.

Just hoping & praying my anticipation isnt for nothing.

I went to the doctor on Friday and found out I have an 11 CC band. I have 9 C C's put in it but when the doctor checked it, I only had 5 CC's he filled it back up to 9 ccs don't know where the other four CC's went hoping I don't have a leak. Feeling good restriction now. He wants me back in a month..

I don't drink high calorie drinks (no soda) very little sweets but I do have bread..

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
