Unfortunately any remedy someone suggests will just be a recommendation w/out guarantees. No product guarantees their results.

I just had cosmetic surgery. It was my #1 question as well and the dr's and cosmotologist both agreed that you can use things like vit E, biooil, mederma etc but it's a 50/50 shot.

However, I also learned that if you have had previous incisions, you can predict how future incisions will heal based on those old scars. So I have had 3 c/s scars that are super faint and should assume all my other scars will result in the same appearance.

I tried using Mederma for a while, but it really hasn't done anything for the color of my scars. They are still a bright pink.

I know that scars fade over time, my son had some pretty horrific ones on his back from injuries, it took a couple of years but they finally faded to more of a skin color.

If anyone has any other idea's though, I might be willing to give em a try!

All I know is when I was pregnant 30 yrs. ago with my first ,then my other 2 I would use coco butter and Vitamin E. it helped to rub it on my belly and ars when they itched and I have really faint stretch marks from that and yo yo dieting , like zi said people that see my scars say oh you can barley see the scars or stretch marks so I guees it helped at least with me there is also a scar cream but I forgot what it is called but type in scar cream and there will probally be a site so all I know is what helped me in the past , well good luck on finding something, that orks for you.

My husband had his spine rebuilt last year and they went in through the front -- a 17" belly scar. He used Vitamin E and that has worked well for him. Trader Joe's makes a nice one that isn't too sticky (and no sticker shock either).

I have used cold pressed Coconut oil and it has seemingly helped. I'm 4.5 years post band though. I don't heal well ordinarily and I scar easy. But they've faded nicely and now that I've lost some significant weight they are really looking better. You might try mixing the Coconut oil and Vit E oil together. I take the Vit E by mouth as well.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
