Angela from nz 0 Posted October 20, 2013 Hi all. I have a 11 week old baby girl and after giving birth I lost ten kilos straight away. Eleven weeks on and ive gained back a few kilos. Have 5ml in my band and I have been eating okay and exercising a bit (not too much though as im breastfeeding). Starting to worry about why my body isnt losing weight. Could this mean that something is wrong with my band. I had it to tight a couple weeks ago so hand some Fluid taken out and now I can eat healthy foods but im still gaining. Any advice and tips would be much appreciated
DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! 12,703 Posted October 20, 2013 Just because you're gaining doesn't mean anything is wrong with your band. It simply means you're consuming more calories than you're burning. You're in a tricky spot because you're breast feeding. If I were you, I'd go see your nutritionist so they can help you establish food guidelines and a calorie range that are healthy for a breast feeding mom. Best wishes and congrats on your baby. BikeCincy 2 Posted October 21, 2013 Hi! First off, congrats on the baby! I gave birth August 13, 2013 and I have been struggling to lose the weight I've gained. I was concerned about my band and also afraid to get a fill because I'm breastfeeding. I spoke with my Dr. and he said that the weight will be slow to come off because my body is still adjusting and that not everyone looses a lot of weight breastfeeding. Plus with you having your band loosened it might be allowing you to eat more than you were used to so the weight isn't going down. I would suggest if you are very concerned to contact your doctor and see what they say. But like the old saying goes, it takes 9 months to gain the weight so it should take 9 months to lose it! If you are eating healthy and eating the proper amount of food I wouldn't worry too much. It sounds like you're doing what's right for your baby and that's what's really important!
