let me say that i eat when i am hungry

when i do eat (since the band/plication wont allow me to eat much) i load up on protein/veggie/fruit in that order but focus on Protein as that is my fuel....the Protein is my gas that keeps me full....so if i am hungry, i eat. if i am not hungry, i don't eat......

i also do not deprive..i dont diet

fill or no fill, i am controlling what i eat.....and what i dont

food has no control

i wont let it..i wont allow it

it controlled me for too long...and i let it...

this former dieting fatty wont ever go back to that way of life.. NEVER

my journey to better health will never be over

i will deal til cows come calling me home

i go day by day..hour by hour

and give it my best....no regrets...no boohoo......no i did bad now what.

facing it head on.....

i posted this comment on a thread...it bears repeating......maybe it will (help) someone

it sure helps me...

"a loss is a loss....back to basics....protein first and front...then veggies and a fruit..stop at a cup of food..stop at 20 minutes......drink all the time...and heck, walk around for 5 or 10 min or march in place for 3 minutes if its all you can.....basics...just like when we started...a loss is a loss......no matter how big or small"

i posted this on another thread...but liked what i wrote and wanted to put it here.

maybe whomever needs a boost, will read it and help......it helped me and i wrote it..

it IS about choices.

its not about bad dieting...its about us not having control..that is why i got super morbid obese...i chose to overeat unhealthy foods and not exercise..having this band surgery gave me the strength and belief i needed that i lost because of one after another failed (diets)...any wls works if used correctly by what the doctor advises them..for best results, its vital to listen to the doctor and eat better foods, exercise, stop making excuses, when we can (can if we want)..and then let the band work...it does and it can and it will work........if used as intended.

get up.....if you cant walk *like me 16 months ago*, march in place for 5 min..

do anything....anything is better than nothing.

I read this earlier today, and it has been in my head all day long. I wanted to feel sorry for myself because my surgery sites are still healing, I am still on mushies, and I go back to work tomorrow. I started down that path, and your words came into my head. So - I got up and did something, not going to the gym or walking, but just moving, doing some housework (actually broke a sweat). It felt great and sent the self-pity packing! Thanks for the kick in the pants - I needed that!!!!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
