Count me in as well. I'm going to commit to four times per week of some type of exersize...eliptical, walking, yoga, or aerobics. I need to get my rear in gear. I wish it would clear up outside because I'd love to do some real walking, but...snow and ICE!

Good-Morning everyone! I feel like I am having a WONDERFUL exercise week. So far, I have exercised everyday this week. I'm still trying to get up in the am, but so far, I just can't seem to do it. Next week, there must be some changes in that! I got the aerobic schedule at my gym, and there are several classes that begin at 5:45 am, so I'm going to try and make them next week.

I made it to the gym last night and had a great workout on the treadmill, I go to the doctor today and I'm going to ask about lifting weights. I'm hoping to start weight triaing 3 x's per week, cardio 5 x's per week.

I want to get skinny! I got my carbello's catalog in the mail yesterday and it is full of this seasons bathing suits. We are planning our cruise Aug. 5th, so I want to at least lose another 30 lbs by then. Right now the weight has crept up in the past 2 weeks, I have not lost, I've gained abuot 4 lbs, then I lost 1 of those back. I don't feel like I'm eating much, if you look at my menu in my journal, you can see that I eat pretty healthy, lean fish, chicken, yogurt, etc.

Anyhow, I started taking fat buring pills/matobilism booster today. So, we'll see what happens.

I hope my doctor will okay a fill today. I don't think I will get it today, but this is just a checkup to see if I am ready for one, if he okay's it, then the hospital will make my appointment.

Okay, I'm off to work............

Okay so I started up a journal to show what I ate and how much I exercised. No exercise today, I have a million errands to run, and tomorrow isn't looking again. Thursdays and Fridays are my "weekends" anyways, so I usually do my exercises Saturday-Wednesday.

My goal is to do some form of exercise at least once a day.

I have been very lazy and get more tired everday. I have no excuse!

I have a membership to the gym and it is on they way to my kids school. I used to go after I picked them up or before I picked them up. I also have any elyptical machine at home. I have my Ipod ready with all the best workout songs, so this thread is what I needed to get me going!!!

I also weighed myself yesterday and lost 3 pounds!!!!!! I had maintained for 2 and 1/2 weeks.

So, I am going to make myself choose one of the following a day:

1. Workout at the gym

2. Do the walking trail by my kids school

3. Do the elyptical at home

4. Walk around my block

I will post later to let you know what I chose to do today.

Have resigned myself to having to exercise in order to get this weight loss moving. I have to drag myself kicking and screaming to exercise. Just not my thing. And like most people once I start I enjoy it. I just have such a terrible time getting myself started. But, I am making a commitment to do some type of exercise for 30 min 5 X a week. I am, I am, I am!!!

What day will we post for the week? Monday?? I am here almost everyday, checking around for new info, so any day will work for me.

I probably won't post meals, although I do track everything I eat. Maybe just calories for the day and exercise for the day.

Ok I have made the commitment!!! Now get moving Mary@!!

I just got back from the doctor, he said I could start out lifting some small hand weights, BUT NOT MACHINES until 8 weeks, and absolutely no ab exercise until 12 weeks. argggg. I was wanting to go an abs-abs-abs exercise class at my gym next week. They have them and they are only 15 min long and they work nothing but your abs. I guess I'll have to wait on that.

Okay, he said I do need a fill, even though I've done GREAT he states on my weight loss, I've not lost anything since the 18th, and I'm actually up to 212 on his scales (I had eaten lunch, had on jeans & boots), so he said that I will need my fill. He faxed over the orders for a fill to the hospital radiology center and they immediately called me within 30 min and scheduled my appt. I go next Tuesday at 12:30. However, they told me I couldn't eat anything or drink anything after midnight the night before. Is that normal? Do they make you fast before a fill?

Babygotback - how is your fill at 1.2 cc's? Do you feel some restriction? I am kinda bummed about the scale moving the WRONG direction. However, I promise I've been good. I'm only eating grilled chicken or fish, no carbs (or hardly any carbs), and exercising. Why am I not losing. Here comes all those fears again (will this work for me, will I fail? Is this another diet attempt only to fail?) Anyhow, I've got to get these negative thoughts out of my head and know this WILL WORK. Okay, I'm thru venting. I will check back later.

Everyone, have a great "sweating your butt off" day. Literally. lol. Work it girls!

Sunshine, I just got back from the doctor's office today too. I had a second fill today while I was there. My surgery was 1/8/07, first fill of 1.0cc was on 2/12 and today they could only get out .5cc. He said that was common with the first fill. I'm afraid it has a leak, but they did not seem concerned. I was told to stay on a clear liquid diet after midnight last night to prepare for my fill today.

After my first fill I felt a little restriction for only about 3 days. After that it was all willpower, and measuring out my food.

Today after this second fill I do feel much more restriction. Not sure how long it will last. I was told to stay on muchies today, and very very soft food tomorrow.

I have a trip planned to Las Vegas at the end of March and wanted to go ahead and schedule my next fill for when I returned. The office manager said I would not have a problem getting in when I want but didn't want to schedule it yet. She said that it is best to wait out as long as possible between fills. Once I'm back to my own willpower only and not losing 6-8 pounds a month then I should come back. She doesn't want me to get to max fill before I reach goal. I hadn't thought of it that way and since I'm still losing right now, I'm okay with her advice.

Anyway, I'm up for the exercise challenge. My goal for March is 3x week walking 2 miles. Haven't done it yet today. I'm encouraged by all the bandsters here that are eager to exercise and keep moving.

Terry

Hi,

Please add me to the excerise challenge, I was banded 1/8/07. My goal is to walk on my treadmill 30 min 5x a week. So far all I'm doing is about 20-25 mins a day. I use to do jazzercise and I just ordered a jazzercise dvd. Hope it comes soon, it's a great workout. When I get it I will probably alternate.

I didn't feel any restriction in the beginning. Now, 9 days after I am feeling a little bit more restriction. Some people dont feel it for 2 weeks. I am eating a lot less, feel satisfied and stay full longer.

I took my quickslim30 today and felt it helped a lot. It is supposed to aid in weight loss too and I really think it has for me. I also alternate my calories between low and high days, always keep it guessing.

It really seems to get the weight coming off. I lost 3 pounds after my fill too.

I also exercised 30 minutes on the elyptical today!!!! YEAH:clap2:

Breakfast: 1 coffee with soymilk

Lunch: 3 oz chicken sauteed with mushrooms, mozerella cheese and marinera sauce

Snack: 15 almonds

Dinner: 5 oz pork

Liquids: 64 ounces of watered down crystal light

Supplements: 1 tbsp. liquid Vitamin, 1 QuickSlim30 and 1 Biotin

I noticed you lost 3 pounds by your ticker - CONGRATS! Your doing so good, I'm a bit envious. :whoo:

I've added the newbies to our list - we're going to have a GREAT MARCH.

Hey, I've got an idea, how about an all out - kick some butt - major focuss - don't let up - Easter Challenge. We can all commit to give it our all until Easter - then we can see what % of weight we lost. By commiting ourselves, to 3 to 5 days a week of exercise, from today until Easter, I would be anxious to see how much % of weight we each lose. Whose up for it?

I have to get my fill - SOON. Tonight, not sure what in the world came over me, but I overdosed on girl scout Cookies :) . Now I'm in pain, my port area for overeating. hopefully, I've learned my lesson!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
