low blood pressure

Recommended Posts

I wouldn't say I "suffer" from it. Truth is, it doesn't really bother me. Once in awhile I get light headed because of it but otherwise it's no big deal.

I used to have high blood pressure, like 145/120. Since losing weight, I've seen my blood pressure go as low as 90/57. Typically it's been around 100/70.

I would ask your doctor to do a full blood work up to be sure it's not a medical issue, and if it's not, just do as he says and accept it as normal for you.

I had borderline high blood pressure a few years and several pounds ago. Actually was on meds for a few years.

Now, my blood pressure can be similar to what you and Missy describe. Sometimes getting a little lightheaded/seeing the little black dots, etc when I stand up. I've discussed this a lot with my PCP. He always suggest its dehydration symptoms....drink, drink, drink I hear. And take it easy....Ha!

I will say I notice far less of this when I drink electrolytes, such as G2, Powerade Zero, etc.

yep sometimes it's a potassium issue.. You might try taking some potassium.. if you are not eating foods that contain it.. my blood pressure has improved so much since losing weight.. I was hypertensive before...

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
