kll724 3,055 Posted October 17, 2013 Welcome and best wishes from an old timer!Your gas pains might not start until tomorrow or later than that. When you get pain in your left shoulder, that will be gas! Walking is the best thing for you when you can. It might be too soon for hat, if you are just out of recovery, tho'! 3 finally done, Bandista and sweetrose1979 reacted to this

The pain I'm getting is in my upper back and it just feels like a very bad wind, is this the gas pains? 1 kll724 reacted to this
kcgal62 133 Posted October 17, 2013 The gas pains are from the gas they put in you to expand your insides so the doc can see where everything is. Sometimes there is some leftover gas in you and it goes up and then out through your shoulders. I'm 2 days post op and my gas is coming out through my collar bone area. A heating pad is very comforting for this pain. And congrats on the band! 5 finally done, Bandista, sweetrose1979 and 2 others reacted to this

GoingforGoal 1,734 Posted October 17, 2013 Typically gas pains start around day 2-3 and can last up to a week on average. Just keep walking, use a heating pad for comfort. Also, because of the pain you may feel less inclined to take deep breaths, but force the issue to avoid lung infections 4 Bandista, finally done, Ms.Vickie and 1 other reacted to this

ndpndnt 5 Posted October 17, 2013 I had surgery Oct. 10. Felt ok afterwards just sore at incision locations. Gas was very very mild and I had no pain meds. But yesterday (6 days post op) the gas started up with a vengence in my left shoulder, back and stomach. Using Gas X. Think I need something different, any suggestions? 2 kll724 and finally done reacted to this
Ms.Vickie 68 Posted October 17, 2013 I was told that Gasx. I almost took a GasX strip but it was peppermint flavored. Nurse said dnt eat peppermints but the gas pain felt like pressure about to blow straight thru my back. The gas has moved to my abdomen and this is more torture. I have found that a heating pad and frequent back massages helped along with walking. 2 sweetrose1979 and kll724 reacted to this
