Calista Burage 5 Posted October 17, 2013 Is it going to stay like that? 1 Debbie3sons reacted to this
♕ajtexas♕ 3,771 Posted October 17, 2013 Probably not once the swelling goes down. My port doesn't protrude out, but I can rub my hand over it and feel it. I often find myself rubbing my port, almost like a comfort thing....yep band still there. 1 Debbie3sons reacted to this

GoingforGoal 1,734 Posted October 17, 2013 Everyone's ports are different. There are some people who have lost such excessive weight that when you take a pic of them their port is protruding out so much it's very evident. Again, different for everyone 1 Debbie3sons reacted to this
Countryheart2000 18 Posted October 17, 2013 I have this hard lump under my biggest incision.....is that normal?I have had that lump, and it might be a hemotoma. thought mine was my port too, but nurse said it was not. The port is deep under muscle. I had my surgery 8-5-13and it is still there. I have not had a fill yet because of it being tender. I am scheduled for my first fill next Wednesday 10-23. I hope I can get it.
Debbie3sons 1,936 Posted October 17, 2013 The port usually most people can't feel it till you start losing cause it is buried under the musle sometimes and as you lose , you will notice it more it is a funny little bump mine goes up and down meaning I can feel it right under my faint scar on the left, right above my belly button when I am laying down , but when I stand up it goes above the scar also if I am full then I can feel it a lot and it says don't even try to eat lol also you should ask your doc if it is normal and have him/her to check it for you , I a a yr. banded so , hope all goes well for you. mwsing 6 Posted October 17, 2013 I saw my doc sat I'm one week out he said there was Water around the incision so it's hot and hard right now and to ice it it 4x a day for 20 minutes, seems to help.
Jim1967 3,569 Posted October 17, 2013 My Wife had surgery on 9/16 and she has a lump as well and it is hard like a hernia. She is going to get it checked out. She has classic hernia symptoms. Hard as rock and hurts when you press on it.

Hard as rock and hurts when you press on it. sounds like a hematoma. A heating pad helps it to go down, but there is not nothing they usually do for it. Just have to go away on its own. Calista Burage 5 Posted October 18, 2013 I went to go see the doc today and he did say it was a hematoma, he is going to see me back in a week and if it's no better then he said he is going to stick a needle in it and drain it!

It helped reduce mine, but it is still not gone away. When did you have your surgery?
