Welcome, 3 weeks post-op today... Started solids yesterday... But did no cheat on my liquid diet, in that time your body is supposed to be healing, don't give it work to do... Now struggling for ideas of high Protein, low carb meals, i don't want to go back to eat carbs... They are out of my life for good!

Welcome!! I was banded on the 11th. liquid diet really does sick but when you eat anything your stomach has to spasm to work to digest. This can cause slippage from what I've read. Be strong. This is a time of trial, but trials produce blessings. Persevere through the trial and get your blessing!!

i am diabetic and kept carb free due to blood sugars for years. my pa (physcian assistant) encouraged me to eat some carbs, like whole wheat bread, yams, brown rice etc. the first meal i made was an egg on toast. 80 cal. for the egg and 80 for the toast. a 160 cal Breakfast not to shabby. it was so lovely, i licked the plate. and my blood sugar was no higher than when i restricted my carbs. the bread allows me to fill up and stay full. i am wishing that she tells me to eat a baked potato loaded with cheese, sour cream etc. lol don't think that will happen. we need to be smart eaters but starving ourselves didnt work before the band and it won't help after band. so smart eating to everyone.

Just got my band Tuesday. Still getting used to the gas pains. One item of concern is than I mistakenly ate a couple small Gummy candies and I'm hoping they don't block or clog my band. Feeling a little discomfort like there may be a block but also seem to have had no issues with getting liquids for the last 18hrs.

It's crazy how you have to be aware of old habits. My kids brought me a candy and I had it gobbled don before even realizing it. Terrible but hopefully it finds a way to pass through.

Hi all. I'm new here and I'm leaving for the hospital soon to get banded. I've been on Clear Liquids since last Thursday. I think all surgeries should be scheduled for first thing in the morning because I'm getting shaky now without my Protein drink! I read what a few of you said about pudding. On my doctor's instruction sheet, day 2 after surgery I can go to full liquids which includes sugar free pudding and low-fat creamed Soups. Which, at this point, sound like prime rib to me. Most of you weren't allowed pudding that soon? Looking forward to participating on this forum when I get home tomorrow.

Don't worry all my Vitamins are gummies and I've been taking them since day one. But don't do it again, the gummies have sugar and calories too. I use to have one grape after meals to avoid the bad taste, but I didn't swallow the skin. Hang in there you will do fine, this is a learning process, a re-discovery of your new body and lifestyle.
