I've been told by numerous people that my hair is looking thin and now I'm really worried about it! I knew it was falling out but, what can I do? I was banded in June 14th and I'm getting enough Protein and I'm taking Biotin (10,000 mcg). Has anyone been through this too? And what helped?

Hair loss is a common symptom of WLS. It's your bodies way of coping with the rapid weight loss. I'm sure there is someone that can offer other suggestions but personally I just waited it out. It'll last a few months but it does stop.

Yes, I believe that is exactly right. I started loosing my hair about 5 months post-op, so you are right on track lol. I went to the dermatologist and he assured me I wasn't going bald. He said your body goes into kind of a shock with rapid weight loss. I stopped loosing my hair about 2 months later. Try not to worry, it should come back in the next couple months. I didn't use Biotin or anything like that.

I am taking a Multivitamin. Thank you guys for assuring me that this is normal and that I won't be completely bald, and that this is temporary! Having other people to talk to is awesome and encouraging!

Ahh yes the dreaded hair fall! My hair also is noticeably thinner after surgery. Take care of yourself try not to stress, keep up your Protein, Biotin, Multivitamin. I use Nixoin Shampoo and conditioner it's a bit pricey but it has helped me tremendously with the regrowth.

Make sure to let your Dr. know also and have them run some labs to rule out all other deficiency's and hopefully soon you will start to see some regrowth.
