Loose Band But Still Losing

Recommended Posts

I have had 1.5 cc's put in so far for my fill level. I can eat a lot in one sitting and with proper chewing there is really nothing that is off limits. I'm eating about 1200 calories a day and don't feel hungry between meals but I think that's because I make sure to get plenty of Protein in at meal times and drink lots of Water. So- even though I can eat "a lot" still, I'm losing 2-3 pounds weekly. I imagine this is because I started out at a very high BMI.

So do i go for my fill next week so I eat much smaller portions or should I wait until I stop losing. What do you all think????

It really depends on whether or not you want to lose faster. If you are losing at a good clip and don't feel deprived I would stay there. If you feel like you are eating too much then I would go in for a fill. I eat around 1k calories a day so your calorie intake will definitely drop with a fill. Good luck.

Are you feeling hungry sooner then you would like, or finding yourself thinking about food a lot between meals? If not, and you're not struggling too much, I'd stay were you are for a while.

Thanks for the replies so far. See, it's not that I'm unhappy about 2-3 lbs a week. That's more than I ever could ask for. It's just that I'm eating more calories and able to easily eat larger volumes than what someone should in a sitting- ie, over 1 cup of food. So mb I will wait a while till my weight loss slows down before I get a fill. I ask because I'm trying to figure out if I should take a day off next week to travel to my fill appt or just bag it for now, ya know?

Hmm, tough one. Personally, I'd go get one, just because I know that I would probably take advantage of the 'extra' room sooner or later. BUT if I was losing and happy, then I'd leave it until I slowed down or hit a plateau.

I too have a 4 1/2 hour drive, so have to plan my fills carefully.

Good luck with your decision and let us know how you are doing.

I'd wait.

I'm not losing really anymore now that I'm nearly at goal weight, i can eat about 1800 calories a day, I'm restricted as much as I'd want to be when I sit to eat ameal but I have too much appetite in between meals these days and I'm STILL procrastinating over getting a fill. I just dont want to be tight! I've got an appointment for this afternoon, but I bet I dont end up going.

so yeah, I'd wait.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
