Back pain- what helps?

Recommended Posts

I tend to get back pain after I eat even when I'm not over eating.... I'm sure it's a mix of gas and eating. Is there anything that will relieve it, it seems to last for over an hour or more! Pressure always makes it feel better but is there anything else, heating pad, icy hot, etc?! Thanks!

Unfortunately, because we don't know the cause of the pain we can't realistically suggest something to help relieve it.

If I were you, I'd talk to your doctor about it. It could be something as simple as indigestion or something more serious like your gallbladder.

agree with missy, if you take anything like beano etc. you might be masking a more serious problem. because the pain is new it screams "talk it over with your doctor"

I wish I could help , however I have detteriating, degenerating bulging discs in y back , so I do the icy hot roll on and sleep with a hot Water agaist y back every night as I can make it as firm as I want cause a heating pad just won't work for me , but talk with your doc so maybe they can figure something out,

Next time you get back pain from eating, take an anti-acid medication and see if that alleviates it....if it does, notify your Dr.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
