Favorit protein drink?

Recommended Posts

The Protein plus are good. I initially was told by my nutritionist to try them because they have 21g protein. I got them at trader joes.

Yesterday got them at Walmart.< /p>

I tried unjury and Jay Robb but they started to become sickening and weren't very tasty. I now use Syntrax nectar. They have a bunch of different flavors from fuzzy navel to Cookies and cream. The fruit ones taste just like you're drinking Crystal Light which makes it easier to get down' date=' for me at least. They are about 23g of Protein per serving.[/quote']

Where can you buy Syntrax Nectar? Any stores or only online?

You can find Syntrax nectar on mybariatricpantry.com . They have the tubs, but also a sample pack. I bought from bjsbariatrics.com because you can choose your own sample pack by selecting which flavors you want to try. The caribbean cooler is supposed to be the best one, however I haven't gotten a chance to try it.

I'm sure you can find them in stores, but I'm not exactly sure where, I haven't had any luck finding them.

I like the 'On The Go' shakes. I found them at Walmart. 180 calories, 4 carbs, 25 G Protein. The chocolate ice cream shake is awesome.

For on the go needs, I really like the Premier Protein chocolate shakes, taste good and at Sam's Club for about $16 for a 12 pack carton are a good price performer. I have thrown them in a cooler when travelling and don't have to worry about taking and washing mixer bottles. I personally do not like the vanilla, I don't think the vanilla is strong enough to cover the medicinal flavor, but that is clearly personal taste.

I also like the Injury chicken Soup flavor as a change of pace, but I like chicken broth/bouillon, if you don't you probably won't like it as a shake. The nutritionist said it makes a good addition to add Protein and chicken flavor to mashed potatoes, but I am still on full liquid (2 weeks pre op and now 4 days post surgery) so I don't know about that yet!

It appears my phone's spell checker got me again. That is Unjury, not Injury!

I really like Premier Protien chocolate out of the 3 brands I"ve tried. It's really smooth and silky - like chocolate milk.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
