Most likely it is the meds that was put in your body during surgery...drink lots of Water take your Vitamin and change your Shampoo and conditioner... Go to a walk in salon and ask for three shampoos and conditioners that will stop/strengthen the hair then do process of illumination... Price, size, smell, top 5 ingredient.(no alcohol)

I'm 16 mos post op and I was already kind of baby fine hair but now its really thin, I mean thin like crazy, I've tried everything I even take Biotin and all it does is make it grow but no new growth, its just a thin mess. I've had to cut it off shorter, ugh. My stylist said I could try Nioxin but that really doesn't promote new Hair growth it just keeps it from falling out. I wish I knew the answer.

Up your Protein as well. I have been using Nixon to keep my hair from falling out and I also take a supplement of Biotin.

Once I started upping my Protein intake that really helped the new regrowth. I still shed some hair, not as bad as it was though and I have lots of new baby hairs growing in.

@ Donna...

There is a Rogaine now for women, you might want to give that a try. My sister in law also had that baby fine hair all her life, and then sadly had breast cancer and through chemo lost all her hair. She was hopeful that as per some stories she heard that her hair would grow back thicker and fuller. Her hair grew back, but still baby fine. She used the rogaine for women and that really helped her out. Might be worth a try.

The stress of surgery, quick weight loss and not having enough Protein is why we lose hair. supplements really do not help with hair regrowth if you use Rogaine the hair will just start falling out again if you quit using it. Its expensive. Just try to be patient and it will stop on its own.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
