Hey bandera.. just checking in for some emotional support. Feeling super guilty finally hit 21 lbs lost and im 2 months post op. However this week was my birthday and a terrible week at work so between celebrating and emotional eating I ate awful.. even up 2 lbs! Feeling guilty.. just hoping I'm not the only one this happened to and that you could offer some words of what helped you get back on track! Also afraid maybe I stretched my pouch! Thanks in advance lapband fam

I'm not the most religious person you will come across but I can tell you only God/Jesus could walk on water! We are human & fallible, the trick is to use this slip up to learn & move forward in the most positive way possible as quickly as possible. You are off to a great start so I have no doubt you will use this lapse to motivate yourself to do better :)

Tomorrow is a new day. Forget the past. Last week was my birthday and I bought myself a big ass cupcake with a huge butter creme flower, because I wanted it! I ate the whole thing and loved it.

Don't beat yourself up.

Just get right back at it. One bad day...or even one bad week doesn't mean you've undone the great work you already did. Life IS going to happen (birthdays, holidays, just plain rough days...), but also remember that these things typically don't happen everyday, and it's important to get right back on track once they're done. Don't be down on yourself, you can do this!

This image is fabulous!! And so true too....chances are you are retaining salt or need a good BM and not really up two pounds...but if you are just remember it wasn't two pounds that derailed you before...move forward and you can lose them again! I always fluctuate between a few pounds each week but only count my monthly weight loss as my actual weight loss.

Fortunately for me, the band will NOT let me eat one single thing in that "Bad" meal image, except the tomatoes and onions........Bread? = No,..... Red meat? = No Mas!....., French Fries? = not a chance!

It's hard to be bad when you're banded.....

Don't feel bad. I celebrated practically the whole month for my bday earlier this year and I think I gained five pounds. Didn't care was enjoying my life and didn't feel guilty because I knew when I was through celebrating, I would start on liquids and get back on track. Best wishes.

Wow only a 2 lb gain and you cheated not bad, please do not beat yourself up.

After getting down to 190 in late 2009 by the end of 2012 I was back up to 250. Now that is something to feel bad about. But I am not, just recommitted myself in January 2013 and down over 40 lbs this year and I am by no stretch of the imagination a perfect bandster.

It's all about make more good choices then bad choices.

First off, congrats on your 20 pounds post op....

Next, and I've posted this before, is that after I committed to the band, I really had to stop thinking of it as cheating. That was something I did when I dieted.

Now, I think of it as treating. And after the hard work that we put in, you definitely deserve it.

Most of us do this so we can enjoy life more moving forward. Treat yourself once and a while. Allow yourself to enjoy things now and again. Don't beat yourself up.

~David.

oh my goodness! this level of support is overwhelming! thanks guys! hearing all this positivity is exactly what I needed! I stuck to liquids last night, I know I shouldn't feel guilty, because you're right, LIFE HAPPENS! the point is to stop it in its tracks before losing all the hardwork i've gained ( that sounds backwards, but you know what I mean). No one except for my husband and family knows I've had lapband so sometimes its hard to feel supported but this reply was just out of this world! thank you all for the pics and sharing your personal stories! I plan to get right back on track today! also, I was turned on to this book at work (I'm supposed to read it to start treating some of my clients) yeah, ironic i'm helping people to lose weight but having the same struggle every day… ANYWAYS it's called

"50 Ways to Soothe yourself without food" and seeing as how I'm an emotional eater AND that I need to read it, It sounds like a great thing! has anyone here read it?! It also has good reviews. If you'd like I'll share my feelings after reading it.. Also, If anyone feels compelled to read it, after I do, I'll ship you it free! I'm feeling like sharing the things I learn since ya'll have shared your support with me. Anywho on a positive note… measured myself today.. and weighed (yes i'm sick, i weigh myself daily its awful) but i've lost another 1/2 inch on my hips and 1/4 on my waist.. nothing in the arms or thighs yet (which is frustrating) but its some positivity to get me out of this funk! anywho hope you all have a beautiful week!!!

xoxo

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
