DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! 12,703 Posted October 13, 2013 I know there's been a zillion threads on this, but what's one more right? I am seeing A LOT of people so hung up on the scale that they're missing the Non scale Victories (yes that's what NSV means). So, please list your NSVs here! It doesn't matter how big or how small, we want to hear it! Mine are (in no particular order): The ability to sit in any chair I want without worrying if I'll fit or break it The ability to sit in booths at restaurants Flying without needing a seat belt extender No longer wearing plus sized clothes Trying on a size 'large' shirt and finding it's too big- and buying a size 'medium' Walking by mirrors while shopping and thinking "wow I look cute" instead of "ugh gross" Being very active in my kids' lives Going from needing a cane to get around the house to walking 2 miles a day unaided No longer having high blood pressure or high blood sugar. No longer having a sleep apnea (or even snoring anymore) Not being recognized by people who haven't seen me since getting my band (literally) Being able to wear cute, stylish clothes (I've become a shopping addict!) Sitting with my legs crossed Being told I look more like my almost 19yr old daughter's sister rather than her mother 29 dylanmiles23, ldlady, enjoythetime and 26 others reacted to this
jamilyne 102668 1,207 Posted October 13, 2013 Well I had one today. My husband and I just joined our local gym today. Im still really nervous about it because I'm overweight it makes me embarrassed. But anyways - you get a free tshirt so I'm like I need a 2x - so she gives me to 2x it was really really big, so she gave me a 1x and it fits. I know this sounds so minimal, but I almost cried. I thought for sure I needed a 2x. Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk 27 kimk1999, Bandista, Gardnergirl2 and 24 others reacted to this

blondegal_ 1,028 Posted October 13, 2013 Sitting in the recliner with my feet pulled up into the seat. Shopping in regular size area even if it's 16/18s. Walking the dogs and they get tired first. Getting carded when going into a casino. I'm getting close to being 40 and I'm the only one of the group that they carded. I called my friend's husband dad the rest of the evening as he has sons that are 23 & 25. Lol. 16 ldlady, dylanmiles23, Bandista and 13 others reacted to this

jfc193 718 Posted October 14, 2013 My Favorite NSV's are: Not having to ask for an extension on an airplane Walking down an aisle of an airplane without apologizing for almost knocking someone out. Getting off the coach on the first try Crossing my legs Getting dressed without sitting down Being able to ride any coaster at an amusement park Not having to worry if the ladder is going to hold me or not Tying my shoes without almost passing out. Taking the golf ball out of the hole without getting on my knees first Having the grand kids get tired before I do Leaving food on the plate without feeling guilty 15 dylanmiles23, parisshel, Jim1967 and 12 others reacted to this
Jim1967 3,569 Posted October 14, 2013 Wow there are so many I could list but here is a small list. I will spare you all by omitting the TMI ones. Walked a 5K for Breast Cancer Awareness back in Sept. 18 months ago I couldn't walk the Supermarket for 10 minutes! Next year I am planning a team for Relay for Life. Gone from a size 62 jeans to a size 40!! No longer shelling out big money for Big&Tall and Catalog clothing. $17 bucks for jeans at Walmart Ability to go to any restaurants and no longer have to wait for a table when there are booths available Sitting in any chair without the fear of breaking it. Still I have reservations because I sometimes forget I am not as big as I was. Going to a movie theater and worry about whether or not the arm rests are movable Not only did I attend my buddies Wedding this past Summer but I was in it!! AND I was styling in that Tux. Adjusting my seat up in my truck and tilting the steering wheel a bit Arthritis in my knee has not flared up in over a year and I can't remember where I put my Cane Crossing my legs. I think we all said that one and it is amazing the smallest thing could mean so much I no longer get stared at like I am some sort of Circus attraction. 16 azmellow1, parisshel, ldlady and 13 others reacted to this
