Everyone is different, some people, especially African Americans will "Keloid" with their scars, and some don't, depends on genetics, etc.

Many have used Mederma, it works good for many I've used it and it helped.

the incisions i had from surgery are not visible...only my port incision, which was the largest one, is viewable but you have to look close for it...i think the scars fade over time...and if they are seen, i am okay with that...they are my battle scars..my medals of taking on super morbid obese war and winning :)

I have always had keloid scarring. I'm using NeriumAD and its crazy how well its working. I started selling it once I noticed that my stretch marks and acne scars were also fading.

No pressure but if you're interested message me! :)

Things like BioOil, Mederma, Vit E is have not actually been proven to consisently fade scars. It effects everyone on an individual basis. My cosmetic surgeon told me that if you had an incision previously, your expected future scars should heal the same. Naturally do whatever you want to help the process, but keep expectations sensible :)

Call me crazy, but my scars are kinda cool to me. They look like a "cut here" line, like on a little kid's craft, and I think that's pretty awesome! They're also kinda like reminders of what I did for myself. I may be worried about extra, loose skin and all that, but I hope the incision marks stay, because I think they're unique and their cause is for a purpose I wouldn't mind being reminded of every once in a while. ;)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
