How much fill do you have in your band? I have 4 and I seem to be fine. Everyone else seems to have so much more. Am I doing something wrong? Maybe eating too quick? The pieces are too big. I just want to know how much everyone else has.

Thank you

I have been thinking the same thing! I have 2.5 and really don't feel like I need another fill!! When I eat the way I'm supposed to I feel fine with the right serving sizes. Everyone is different I guess but I agree with your concern, people have huge fills and I wonder how the heck they are eating anything!

Don't get obsessed with the numbers. Everyone is different. Ask yourself, are you eating no more than a cup of food per meal, able to go 3-4 hours without feeling hungry and most important are you loosing weight? If all these answers are yes then great, you do not need any more Fluid in your band.

Everyone is different regarding the amount of Fluid in their band. Look an CarolinaGirl lost 140 pounds and has never had a fill.... some patients feel restriction right out of the box, others need their band almost to max. Go with what feels and works right for you.

It sounds like you are doing great, just keep it up. As you loose you may need a fill to help you along, just don't be in a rush to get there. This is for life. Good luck to you.

I was at 4.5 and gained weight. I was eating things that were easy to get down so mainly junk food. I will talk to the nurse when I go in. I must admit my bites are bigger than they should be but I certainly don't eat as much at 3.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
