cheryl2586 3,053 Posted October 9, 2013 You're not a failure. Are you eating enough Protein and not eating starchy carbs? Are you drinking enough Water, getting enough sleep, having bowel movements regularly? All these things affect weight loss. 2 Bandista and dylanmiles23 reacted to this
Bandista 7,466 Posted October 9, 2013 Hi Manuela, good for you reaching out -- you can get this, just need to figure out what is not working. Are you in touch with your doctors, food and exercise plan? I am pre-band but have been reading so many stories these last few months. Many people feel a low at a particular time -- the ups and downs may have to do with where you are in the process. Fill in your stats on your profile so the pros (above) can offer informed input. So many people here have been through it all -- there is lots of compassion and help for you. Know you are not alone. And don't forget to be compassionate with yourself, too! 2 zinhaa and greatlyblessmom reacted to this

olliensys 53 Posted October 10, 2013 Hi..your not alone..i am 5 weeks out and have gained a few pounds. I have been reading tons of posts trying to figure this out. I am still confused and eating almost the same way as before the surgery. I hear that we should be eating 1200 calories and i am too hungry for that. I also hear a lot about how the band is supposed to work. Hang in there though. No matter how hard or complicated.....this must work. 1 Bandista reacted to this

Is there hope for me?!?!?!?!?!?![/quote']Hi there, I had my first fill (2.5cc) 2 weeks ago and still no restriction, I too was feeling like a failure as the scales never moved and I have been watching everything I eat but the doc told me that it isn't until the 2nd or 3rd fill until you start feeling some restriction. So keep going and don't give up! Like me I felt deflated but we didn't pay all that money for nothing, it will work it just takes a few fills and a bit of patience and food control! Hang in there sweetie xxx 1 Bandista reacted to this

tmanning 4 Posted October 11, 2013 I had my second fill yesterday and I can really tell the difference. Hopefully you will see an improvement with you next fill also. My surgeons says the the first fill gets you in the neighborhood, second fill on the street, and by the third fill you will be home. In other words it is a gradual process. 1 Bandista reacted to this
ttaylor3102 6 Posted October 11, 2013 Hi bander! I am about 9 months out and I'm down 83 pounds. It took some time for me to figure out why I wasn't losing any weight. I gave up after 4 months in and started to gain ... I regrouped and went back to my support group, online sites, a gym and joined a local running group. The weight started to come off. I lost 50 pounds in 3 months( over the summer). I had to limit carbs, take a supplement to help go to the bathroom and drink lots if Water. I also tried to walk/ run daily. Don't give up!!! You guys can do this .....
divanmm 11 Posted October 12, 2013 Manuela, I'm so glad you posted this because I felt alone. I've had two fills since May 24th and felt no restrictions! My surgeon started giving me Phentermine again and I was thinking, what is the purpose of me going through this whole process if I have to take pills again? I had a fill today with a new doctor and I'm praying this works. We can do this and I will continue to get on this site for encouragement. Good luck!
