i'm right behind you with a surgery date of 9/19 and a fill date schedule for next week.. this last few days have been really hard.. trying to find distractions when i start to feel hungry again after I've already eaten for the day.. just have to find something to distract. and drink lots and lots and lots of Water. i find the days where i actually drink enough Water i do better on the scale.

We need to keep in touch since we had ours at the same time!

Did the hunger just come out of nowhere for you guys or was it more gradual? I was 9/26 and my hunger has been very sensible. I declined my first full and told the doc I would be in touch. Just wonder of the hunger issue is lurking around the corner for me

Mine hit on day 10 with a vengeance. I guess that's when my swelling must have gone down. I get so hungry at times that my stomach really hurts. It is a struggle to control my portions, but I do it. I can't wait to get my first fill on 10/17, any bit hopefully will help some!

I had my procedure on 9/16' date=' my first fill is next Monday 10/14, I'm very hungry.. Ive only lost 12 lbs and i thought I would have lost more and NOT be so hungry. HELP [/quote']

Hi!

Oh my gosh, we are twins! I was banded the 16th as well and my first fill is 10/14. I have also just maintained 12 lbs lost. Also, I'm in the hunger boat too. Our stomachs aren't swollen anymore and I know my surgeon puts the band in empty, so since my stomach isn't pushing against the band anymore I don't feel full. Hopefully it won't take too long getting to the green zone!

Let me know how it goes for ya!

I was banded September 19th and I am not hungry too often. I add Protein to whatever I can and I am trying to add to my diet and I drink all day long. I like Special K strawberry Kiwi protein Water. 30 calories a 5 grams of protein. It's yummy. I've lost 13 post op and feel pleased sabots only been three weeks so 4+ pounds a week is great!

Where are you getting the Special K protein water? I used to drink it years ago and liked it but now I can't find it anywhere.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
