I'm excited because tomorrow I will be getting my first fill. My doctors PA uses fluoroscope to do the fills. I'm a little nervous but mostly looking forward to hopefully getting some restriction. I'm happy that I've lost even after the carb filled mushy phase. I hope everyone else is doing well! :)

Hope all goes well to you! I don't get mine until Oct 31st, but I'm going to ask the nurse if my Dr can do it sooner. Getting hungry and afraid I might overeat. I'm starving now. Won't hurt to try. Please let me know how it goes tomorrow :)

will do as i'm STARVING too feel like i could eat off my arm.. i'm just hoping he puts in enough to make a difference.. there is some Fluid already in there as he adds some when placing the band but said it's normal for it to loosen up in the wks post surgery. i'm just ready to find that green zone and finally see the scale move.. as it's not doing much of anything these days....

I left a response via my phone but I guess it didn't post. I hope your fill went well today. I got 3ccs and they do it with the fluoroscope, it was strange being poked and then having to stand up and do the swallow test. It was cool to be able to see everything though. I feel a slight difference in my restriction but not a huge difference. My next fill is scheduled for November 6th. I haven't been very hungry lately so I guess that's a big change from the weeks prior to my fill. Hope everyone is doing well!!

it went great for me. The nurse had me lie down on my back and then slightly sit up to bring the port closer to the surface.. she numbed me before hand and so i didn't feel a thing. i am now at 6cc full in a 14 cc band. apparently there was already 4 in there so she added 2. but is hopeful because of her past experience that patients with a 14cc band on average find the green zone some where between 7 and 9 cc. with some of course being the exception to the rule. i'm on liquids now for 48hrs mushes for one and then slowly back to normal. i'm hoping i will see a big change in restriction as with 4cc already in there i could eat what ever i wanted and how i wanted so it was getting hard to keep up my good habits.. won't really know until i start eating solid foods again so Monday will be the day to watch

Wow! Already at 6ccs. I'm jealous. I also have a 14 cc band. I'm not sure how much they will give me when I go back in. I'm a little discouraged because my back problems are keeping me from exercising. I can barely walk. I have another appt. with my pain management dr to see what else I can do for my pain. I'm still losing, I would just like to build muscle and tone up while losing. Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
