I am just 8 days post op. Went back to work yesterday, and today they bring in Panera Bagels for Breakfast, my favorite. Baked ziti for lunch. And to top it off cake pops. How oh how to ward off these temptations????

You just gotta be strong and think of the reasons you had surgery in the first place. It's hard and you may slip, but you can do it!

yes think about why you had surgery... You can do it.. if you went through the pre-op diet and the surgery you can resist some food... besides you are not healed up enough to eat that kind of food... I would take a walk and make sure you have some Protein Shakes or something to drink..

Yeah, arch, just think of all you've gone through and say to yourself: THIS TIME IT'S GONNA BE DIFFERENT.

Are they trying to kill off the employees or just completely slow down the work product? Just kidding (well, sort of). Seriously, that kind of food is not going to make anybody's body happy in the long run. You are so much better than that -- you are committed to fitness and health. You don't need that crap! So there.

All those carbs! I would need a nap just looking at those. All the comments above are right. You deserve better than those calories and the feelings that come with them when you cheat. Also please give your stomach repair time. You can do this.

Geez......where do you work? LOL...

Just make sure that you bring enough of what YOU need, so you're not tempted to dive into whatever they bring in. It's going to take a lot of strength on your part. Just stay focused and remember why you had the surgery. Then visualize yourself walking away from the office kitchen, toward a healthier thinner....you.

Those are all things that I would've craved before surgery. I honestly don't want any of them now. I've had a couple of stuck episodes and those scared me. The thought of eating a doughy/chewy bagel is enough to send me running!

We don't often have food at work like that because I'm a teacher. When we do, I'm able to just take a drink and be on my way.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
