I'm not sure how to add via the phone app, but it's really easy on the internet site. Just go to community, then find friends and then there's a box where you can search by the person's username.

I just have to say i LOVE this site.. i just went from a lonely user of MFP to having a bunch of friends in less than a day WOW.. Now next step is how to encourage each other using the app
