Gardnergirl2 96 Posted November 14, 2013 November 25th is the magic day for me! I am excited, yet nervous. started liquids only today, been low carb before that. I had my gallbladder taken out a couple of years ago, and the two surgeries sound comparable. I am looking forward to this tool that will help me battle a life long enemy of mine. My birthday is Nov. 19, so its my bday present to me......
Jasie 17 Posted November 14, 2013 I bought my Protein Powder at GNC the Isopure vanilla. It's pretty good. This preop and postop liquid diet is hard.
skinnysomeday1211 20 Posted November 14, 2013 Just fyi, I am 1 week post op and sitting at my computer desk and driving is the worst. It hurts anytime I have to sit straight up for an extended period of time. Make sure you wear a very loose waistband. 1 lasal reacted to this

I was banded last Thursday the 7th and went back to work today! No issues at all I can definitely feel where the port(I'm guessing) was attached to my muscle but its not a horrible pain just tender. I also have a desk job. 1 lasal reacted to this

I was banded on a Tuesday and went back to work at a desk job the following Monday. The only problems I had was sitting straight up. I couldn't slouch because of the incisions. I brought a throw pillow the next day and it was so much better! 1 lasal reacted to this

Gardnergirl2 96 Posted November 15, 2013 Congratulations to you too! My family is a bit aghast that I won't be able to enjoy thanksgiving or my birthday (unless its a Protein Shake bday cake lol). But, I am ready.....I will be thankful for a complications free surgery and this new lease on life. Most people have been supportive. A few have remarked that I am not "big enough", bc I don't look like I weight what I actually weigh (if that makes sense). But, they don't know the life long battle I have had with this, and the great desire to have a tool to help in the fight. 1 Bandista reacted to this

The Icy One 518 Posted November 16, 2013 Congrats to all the upcoming surgery dates! Thanks. I have six days to go. So ready to do this. My son loves Thanksgiving, it is his favorite day of the year. He looks forward to it and the big spread I always put on. He was gutted when I first told him that the big feast wasn't happening this year. But he was cool about it in a couple of minutes. He gets why. And his grandmother is going to do a smaller Thanksgiving dinner for him and his dad so that they don't miss out and I can take the day off for a change. To be honest, I'm kind of looking forward to spending the day on my own. My broth and a good book, maybe a good movie or two... Does that sound awful? 3 KYBrownEyes, freedom4emjay and Irishflower79 reacted to this
KYBrownEyes 67 Posted November 16, 2013 Congrats Jas! lasal-I had my surgery on a Thursday, worked at home on Monday, and then went into the office on Tuesday. No major problems except running to the bathroom (clear liquid diet) and also some of my dress pants rubbed on my incision. Wear comfy clothes!
KYBrownEyes 67 Posted November 16, 2013 Icy I don't think it is terrible. You do need your rest. I had big plans for reading and watching a bunch of stuff I DVRd but really I slept more than anything. Which was good. Good luck and keep us posted! Thanks. I have six days to go.
