My doctor said drink or sip what you can. He was with me when I was trying to get some chicken broth down.

If 1/6 teaspoon is all you can get down then1/6 teaspoon it will be. It is good practice eating slowly.

I was able to get more down with time. Sip, sip, sip.

Ms. Betty never called and got back to me. :( It's kinda okay though, yesterday things kinda picked up and I was able to drink more throughout the day. :) I went to the bathroom twice and it wasn't as dark as it had been. I think I'm getting better now. :)

Hey Allie! Hope you're feeling better. The dr. will give you more pain meds if you ask. Do you have the card from Mrs. Betty? It has her cell phone # on it. I had an appt today but I think they'll be out the rest of the week. Hopefully, you'll be able to reach her today!!!

I do, and I called her, then I called the nurse. The nurse said that she'd remind Ms. Betty to call me, but she didn't get around to it, I guess. I'm feeling much better now and I'm drinking more often, so I'm not going to worry about it until the 15th, my post-op appointment. :) It was scary there for a few days, but I'm all good now!

So glad you're doing well and have turned that corner. Pain medication is such a trial for the body -- all those side effects.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
