DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! 12,703 Posted October 6, 2013 You need to go to your bariatric surgeon and let him fill you. Only a complete fool would even consider doing it themselves. 7 ☠carolinagirl☠, Debbie3sons, mrsto and 4 others reacted to this

HotButterFly 981 Posted October 6, 2013 I don't think she's planning on doing it herself, I think she just wants to know to be prepared. I have NO IDEA what da heck they use, I can tell you it doesn't hurt at all... It's probably 2.5 inches ... But that's an uneducated guess because I've never really looked at it 1 Debbie3sons reacted to this

Steffyp 63 Posted October 7, 2013 It is a long needle. I always turn my head. Even though I can't feel it, I don't want to see it either. 1 Debbie3sons reacted to this

MookNana 61 Posted October 7, 2013 I don't know the whole story, but the literature we got from our doc did recommend that we carry the appropriate fill needle with us if we were traveling somewhere outside of a major metropolitan area in the West. I know that's not why they were asking, but it could explain why someone would want to know about the appropriate fill needle. 2 Debbie3sons and B-52 reacted to this
catharina 0 Posted October 10, 2013 thank you for all the 'kind' remarks. I was wanting to be prepared for my first fill nothing more.
HotButterFly 981 Posted October 10, 2013 thank you for all the 'kind' remarks. I was wanting to be prepared for my first fill nothing more. LoL at "kind" remarks. You can almost always BANK ON IT that someone will be a smart-ass with their remarks. Did you already get your fill?? If yes, how was it?

I do....and my Dr. Puts together a little kit with the syringe and needle, when I tell him I'm leaving the country.......just in case I get violently sick with vomiting, I can perform a complete un fill rather than risk a major slippage, somewhere there is no immediate, competent medical help. Then I would be in big trouble with a slippage, or worse, away from home. I should add, my port is right there under a thin layer of skin....don't need to search for it....a one armed blind person can hit it on the first try. But like anything else, talk to your Dr. About it if you feel it may be needed.
