sweetthingMN 0 Posted February 27, 2007 I need to know what others are doing for exercise. I am walking 2 miles a day and will soon be able to get back in the pool. I do my walking while I am at work, during my lunch hour and then swim at night. I am just wondering, should I be eating before I go for my walk or should I eat after and how long should I wait after walking to eat? Any suggestions would be of great help. Also what other type of exercise should I do. I am going to look into some exercise DVD's.
niecyrenee 2 Posted February 27, 2007 I walk as well but I too was looking for something different so I have added some other things. Some things I do: ride the bike, light weight lifting and crunches. I also bought a DVD at Wal-Mart that is a cardio dance routine. I don't know the exact name of it but it's not bad and not expensive. It's a good workout but it did teach me that I have no funk! :heh: My dh gets 40 mins. of pure comedic entertainment! I really don't know about the eating around walking thing. I get up and walk at 4:00 a.m. and don't eat Breakfast until 7:00. That's just how my schedule works out and it works well for me. silry 0 Posted February 27, 2007 when i walk, i wear adjustable ankle weights. i am going to start carrying those tiny hand weights and in a few weeks, i'm going to start yoga. i find yoga is very calming to the muscles, but you can still feel that you are working them. and, as a weird side effect, i've developed patience from doing it. LOL!!! as for the eating before or after, there is a school of thought on both. my old trainer said if you ate before you worked out, that you would merely work off what you just ate. another one said to workout hungry so you are burning fat. so. LOL.
gigi8 0 Posted February 27, 2007 I am going to the gym 3-5 days/week and doing the eliptical machine for 35" and the bike for 10-15". Today I over did it. I did 45" on the eliptical and 25" on the bike. The reason I am a little worried is that I am only taking in about 400 calories/day. I don't want to mess up my metabolism again. ( I messed it up before when I was taking in 500 cals and exercising 2 hours/day). I love to exercise though- good thing! Gigi
