2 weeks 2 days after my op!

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone

I am 2 weeks 2 days post op. I can not believe how briliantly it has gone. I am eating and have been eating since day 3 smoked haddocked cooked in milk and blitzed down with sweet potatoe and a handful of baby spinach bliized served in to two different small piles or asaparagus and a touch of garlic and milk blitzed. Greek yogurt with fresh mango or berries blitzed in.

is this normal to be eating food like this so soon. I have lost just over 1 stone and feel fantastic. I am just listening to my body and have had no discomfort at all.

Does anyone know if you are allowed champagne after a plication (i am going to a wedding)?

Hope everyone else is as good as me.

God Bless

Caroline

Glad everything is goin well! I had a sip of a paralyzer four weeks after on New Years and the pop in the drink made me feel sick. So be careful of carbonation so soon after!

Hi cazza glad your doing well. In the states we are put on a very strict diet to ensure the stomach doesn't loosen up to fast. I also wasn't able to eat my first solid till this past Sunday. Before that I tried and felt horrific. Also was told that anything carbonated or bubbly in a drink can make one feel sick to. Try it before the wedding so you don't feel sick during.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
