Have they found the Boxes Jesus was buried in?

Yes, I am talking about myself.

Thanks, Wheetsin. That really does help me to understand where you're coming from. I am a bit surprised, though, because you seem, in prior posts, to have relied heavily on science and scientific proof. I've never known someone who doesn't believe in absolute reality that also believes in scientific proof. But that's a topic for another thread :biggrin1:.

If it's a morally neutral act, if there's nothing wrong with it, if it's just a woman messing with her own body, why do you hate it?
I hate it because I think there should be a better method. I think unwanted pregnancies should be prevented before they happen. I think there should be a way to prevent a pregnancy (other than abstinence) that is 100%.

By the way, not liking a practice doesn't mean I think it is morally repugnant. I don't like the euthanasia of homeless animals in shelters, but I understand that it's necessary. It's not morally repugnant.

I told you up front that my PM's were very limited (I'm up to 248 out of 250 right now).
You can delete them, you know, to keep your box from filling up. Even your sent PMs add too that total, but you can delete those, also, after sending them.

Hate is a pretty strong word for something that you just would be better handled differently. The stuff I hate is pretty awful stuff (infanticide, genocide, rape, terrorism, abuse). The rest of the stuff that I just think should have a better method (laporoscopic banding instead of open banding, mechanical pencils instead of endless sharpening with the associated pencil shavings, inhaled 'flu vaccine instead of injections) doesn't inspire my hatred.

I'm right there with ya'.

Yes, I know, but that's a tedious process. Open it up, look at it, decide if I want to save it, remember which one it is, delete it. I do my best but I'm not perfect and my time is limited.

Science can tell us that the sky is blue because of the refraction of light in the atmosphere, but I would not say that "the sky is blue" is an absolute reality.

I used the wrong terminology, then. I don't hate it, I just don't like the practice. We say we "hate" things all the time, when we just don't like them. It really isn't more than a phrase. For example, I say I "hate" pears, but I don't. I just don't like raw pears.

You're pretty careful with your words, so I'm surprised you'd say something you didn't mean. "I hate the practice, I wish it was never needed." I keep looking back at it. It's a very strong statement, "hating" combined with "wishing it were never needed". I believe you would say "I hate pears" when talking to a friend, but looking at your prior posts as a whole, I don't think you would write something like that on this board. I rather see you writing something like "I don't care for pears" or "I don't like pears." But putting the hating and the wishing together makes it even stronger. I don't think you would ever say "I hate pears and I wish all pear trees would die." Semantics? Yes, but words tell us a lot.

Well, I'm sorry for not being as careful with my words as usual. I was kind-of doing two things at once when I answered you, and didn't take the time to re-read what I wrote to see how it would come across.

You've defended the hateful words of others.

No, we're not. I am pro-choice because I believe a woman has a right to control her own body. I am NOT pro-abortion. I hate the practice, I wish it was never needed. But I still think safe, legal abortions should be given to women who want them.

Do you think we are opposite gender clones?

Actually the sky is every color but blue.

Actually, hang on. The color of the sky comes from refraction, not reflection. When color comes from reflection, we see the color that is reflected - hence the color that it is not. In refraction the color that reaches your eyes is what is being refracted - it has nothing to do with absorportion/reflection. You can see true color through refraction. You don't see the sky as blue because blue is being reflected and all other colors absorbed, you see it as blue because the blue color is being refracted down toward the surface (just as a spectrum spreads the colors out). That's (part) of why our sunsets are different colors. A different part of the spectrum is being refracted (think of a prism that reflects blue when the light is at one angle, and red when at another).

My goodness, this thread has been busy since last night. You know the funniest thing. All of this bantering and negative vibe on this thread all based around "chrisianity". Again, I am a Christian, I guess to all of you a "Liberal" Christian, but how many of you have visited the "Pagan" thread? Everyone is calm and welcoming to anyone who posts either out of interest or couriosity. This is making us Christians look bad.

Robin: Where's the Pagan thread? Here at LBT? There are quite a few pagans posting around here. Heathens, pagans, all manner of opinionated folks. They do seem to be taking the whole religious discussion with a grain of salt. Seems that the right wing Christian side are the most angry and vocal and accusatory against everyone else. It has been quite an experience!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
