Help. Off track. Hit wall.

Recommended Posts

I had my surgery November 2011. I've had some health problems lately (not related to the surgery). I have Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA).

I need to get back on track with everything. Diet, exercise, everything. I bought a treadmill. Need support and suggestions. Kind of depressed. I have lost 50 pounds but have another 50 to go. Time to get busy and serious about everything.

Yes I always had the "six month" mark in my mind. That the pounds would shed off with ease. I'm at 3 mos and find I could easily go back to my old ways if I wanted. Sure I can't eat as much if I'm eating the right foods... But crap foods seem to go down fine lol... Keep fighting! That's what I tell myself everyday!

I am at 9 months and I eat whatever I want. I could stand to gain a few pounds actually. Hit 94 pounds and I freaked - got back up to 109 and that's where i waver - between 114 and 105.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
