tobethin30 89 Posted December 11, 2012 What kind of questions do you have? Where is she having the surgery done?
Kika79 64 Posted December 15, 2012 Lois-the procedure itself takes about 45mins. She will probably stay in the hospital for observation for 2 days on a liquid diet. The first few days are a bit rough but she should be up in no time. I had surgery on a Thursday and I was back in the office on a Tuesday. Her diet must completely change, she will need to learn how to eat slower and smaller portions. My biggest challenge was my mind. "IT" was also hungry!! I waited a month before starting cardio. Exercise will be her new Best Friend. Plication IS NOT like the sleeve or bypass she will need work to loose weight, which in my opinion is harder but it will teach you how to actually eat healthier. I started with 267 pounds and as of today I've lost 80pounds. My goal is 167. Some weeks you will 3-4pounds while other weeks you will remain the same or gain 1-2 pounds. Eating less processed foods, more greens & fruit with a some cardio is what's worked for me. This site will be great for your daughter, have her go on YouTube as well. It helped me alot. There's also a few ladies on here like (tobethin30 & Becky) that have had great success. Good luck to the both of you!! Keep us posted. 1 Lois reacted to this

Lois 6 Posted December 28, 2012 Thanks everyone for your response. Bos123, how long ago did you have your surgery? Where? Who was the surgeon? I have many things running through my head...to many to put on paper. I was hoping my daughter would join a chat room, but as of yet, she has not. I hope after her surgery maybe....4 more days!!!! I'm excited and nervous for her. I have to say, she is always interested when I have new info....Bos123, do you have any regrets with the surgery? I don't know at this point, which questions to ask, I guess I'm just hoping all goes well, and that we made the right decision. Thanks

I had a bmi of 33 and have lost 23 pounds since then. That first three weeks was hard, mind wise. All the Christmas functions and what not... Which I avoided because I had a hard dose of reality about head hunger. Made it through, feel fantastic am am so excited for what's to come. I didn't tell anyone but my husband and I have no regrets to date. I have started soft foods. I had a bad cold for two weeks and stalled for about that long, but since starting the foods I have lost. Hoping this cold goes away because I plan I start excersizing in January! Good luck to your daughter! They were great there!
SoReadi 0 Posted January 8, 2013 I am planning to have the plication procedure. I really want to know if you have good restriction as far as appetite is concerned. I guess what I really want to know is if your decision to have the procedure was well worth it?
Bos123 221 Posted January 8, 2013 I am planning to have the plication procedure. I really want to know if you have good restriction as far as appetite is concerned. I guess what I really want to know is if your decision to have the procedure was well worth it? Yes I do. I am 5 weeks out just about and am on solid foods. It's such a weird feeling to really feel full after about 1/2-3/4 of food! It's like a miracle. My brain has not caught up yet. I see that I eat less than my five year old and think... How is this possible that my body is satisfied with this??! It's crazy, I am so happy an grateful it has been tough at times but that's my brain talking trying to talk myself back into old bad habits. Good luck with whatever you decide!
