What Was Your First......

Recommended Posts

I remember very well. My first soft food was scrambled eggs and I remember them tasting wonderful! My first full meal was bbq chicken on the grill and corn-on-the cob. That was also my first pb. Corn still does not go down for me. I miss corn!

Try creamed corn, I can eat that very easy and it taste really close to regular corn. ~Mandy

Oh my gosh...listen, as ive said before in a post i made today, im having serious appetite problems and ive been exceptionally hungry.

i just went out with a new friend of mine here, and we went to the first place i ever had (ever) sushi at, a year or so ago. And this time had

the

best

sushi

in the universe.

holy cow. each piece i took and put on plate, cut in quarters! and i still ate a LOT of it. I also carefully soaked each piece in soy, wasabe and ginger and chewed everything well. it was AMAZING! What flavor! What beautiful food! it bloomed in my mouth!

one roll was a rock and roll, roll and the other was a crazy maki roll. then my friend also ordered a steak filet plate with grilled shrimp. OH MY GOSH it was so great. THEN....!

the owner of the place knew my friend, and started giving us shots of special reserve sake! holy cow. i got through one of the strong ones, and then he brought out a type of sake that was soooo smooth, it was milky, and was a first run pull off of a premium sake, im telling you it was the best dinner all the way around ive had in maaany moons.

Im a happy puppy.

if i could only eat like that all the time. ...

ive not had a problem with any pb tonight. Ive been very careful and been looking for them. so far, so good! im amazed. (and a little dazed) and just feel awesome.

so..this was my first sushi since the surgery. Im so glad i went. yum.

I can't so sushi anymore (can't do the rice) I've switched to sashimi. Or I order sushi rolls no rice. (nori, fillings, and I use wasabi and pickled ginger) I love spring rolls and shrimp wrapped in nori. I also order sashimi, and just try 2 or 3 kinds. I miss the sushi but my band and being thin is better than rice. :girl_hug: ~Mandy

My first real meal following mushies was beef enchiladas. I also had a bite or 2 of refried Beans, and papas. I couldn't eat much, but it sure felt good to look at a plate of food again!!! And for the first time EVER at that (our favorite) little restaurant, I did not finish my plate, and did not have a sopapilla---couldn't have if I'd wanted!!! A few bites and I was done, but they were GREAT bites!!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
