TinyMamiOf3kids 1,280 Posted October 6, 2013 I suffer from Migraine for many years. My mom does also. I was on a medication before imitrex that was paid by insurance but its now no longer cover. I have told my doctor about this other medication but he flat out said no & even try to get the insurance to cover the medication I was on before & they refuse to cover it. I can't take medication with aspirin after surgery. I notice it gives me side affects. I used to take aleve & Advil & even Advil for migraine but now I can't take none of that. Is there anything you guys take that helps with migraine? I can't live like this. Thanks

LilBoo007 491 Posted October 6, 2013 Mami, I have a brain disorder that gives me horrible migraines.. With my disorder it is very common for OTC meds to be ineffective, my neurologist has me on liquid Vicodin for my Migraines and also an anti Migraine med called propranolol. I take it twice a day and I have seen a difference in the amount of migraines I get. Also, Imitrex does come in a generic now that your insurance should pay for. It's called Sumatriptan. Other than that, I just have to push through the migraines and at times it takes all I have to power through them!

TinyMamiOf3kids 1,280 Posted October 6, 2013 Check the website for your prescription med. Most have patient assistance programs for those who cannot afford their meds. The only thing they have here is medicaid for people that don't have a lot of income. Medicaid doesn't cover everything either. So i'm ass out at this moment.
