Beef patties

Recommended Posts

I've always been addicted to beef patties ... Has anyone had problems with them ... I mean I'm not gonna back to eating them they way I used to but if I can they will be a treat from time to time :)

I'm a little over two months and just tried it for the first time a few days ago. Only had like a fourth or less of it (I was picking it off someone's burger) but it went down fine. Eat slow and chew... That's what I had to remind myself.

I would stay away from them since they are a trigger for you to over eat.... look at healthier, less fattening alternatives. This surgery is a tool to help you lose weight the rest depends on what and how much you eat and exercise is key.

I lived off meatloaf and chili in the beginning. I now eat beef patties regularly. I buy good lean hamburger. I sometimes mix turkey and hamburger half and half. I don't dump....so I usually caramelize some onions on top of a hamburger patty and dip it in ketchup. I'll dip it in beef gravy if I have it. I buy the heinz beef gravy in the jars. :)

I loved beef before surgery, and now its super hard for me to eat. It's rough on my stomach, and it takes forever to chew to applesauce consistency. I'd try turkey burger as an alternative. I love it now :)

Beef patties as in burgers? I eat them all the time just w/o the bread.

I can eat a little but not if it's too dry and I have to eat slowly and chew carefully. I had one from Chili's w/guacamole. I'm not usually a guacamole fan but it helped the burger go down easy. And it was MUCH tastier than expected. :-)

I eat burgers (minus the bread). They sit very heavy tho. I can only have like 3 oz max

I have had a beef burger or two....but LOVE turkey burgers. I dip each bite in a little A1 sauce. LOVE IT!

That sounds good! I've never used A1 with anything except steak - I'll have to try it this weekend. :-)

I've always known burgers to be beef patties. Don't know what you're talking about then.

Believe it or not, this is the first time I see beef patties made like that. I always thought beef patty is a burger :)

These?

I would look at the nutritional info..carbs, sodium, etc, and make a decision based on that. Processed foods are often high in fat, sodium, carbs, etc, maybe contact your nut.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
