Why are you having it before you reach your goal? Just curious.

I'm 30 lbs away from my doctors goal weight of 160 and have 3 months until the surgery. My PS said that he would even be comfortable it now because my arms have not much fat left in them, and what fat they do have, he is liposuctioning out anyway.

My sister had this about 4 weeks ago. She did have an edema on the night of the surgery and had to go back in to have Fluid drained the following morning. But other than that, she's been fine. The bruising went really quickly and the scars look great already! I'll be having mine done too once I reach goal. Good luck to you. I hope you love your new arms :-)

Cool. Undecided at the moment if having plastic surgery next year or in 2015. It's a combination of procedure due to the fact that I count on my teenager.

So here's my dilemma. I want to do it on January, before my cruise to mexico on March 1st. The earliest he can do it is Jan 7th which gives me 7.5 weeks before my cruise. Has anybody had it that can tell me if this is enough time to feel normal again? I don't want to go to mexico with flabby arms, but I also don't want to be miserable if I'm still painful or anything.

Just had it two weeks ago because I'm getting married in January and wanted scars as healed as possible. Now you will feel fine but scar will be very noticeable still so sunblock them good. My doc did my incisions inside to where there not to noticeable. Good luck

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
