Where do you find the Isopure? Is it in a glass or plastic bottle? And what's the piece range on those? I'm thinking I should stock up on those since surgery is Monday.

the ones I drink are in 8 oz plastic bottles. Amazon has it in their subscribe and save items ($38 for 24) which I just ordered after trying the flavors from an order with My bariatric pantry ($2.50). Molly 10/2/13

Had my surgery Oct 8th. No problems, no nausea or gas pain 7 incisions all very small. Had 2 week post op check up Fri. All glue has fallen off my incisions. Doc says I can tub bathe and swim. I had planned to go to work a week after my surgery, but I caught a cold so took few extra days. Down 24 pounds since starting 2 week preop diet. Started pureed diet yesterday. Have had refried Beans, mashed potato, pureed tuna, cottage cheese, apple sauce. This morning Breakfast was a scrambled egg cooked with a little milk and 1T bls of ricotta cheese. My sides were 1Tbls pureed green chiles and 1Tbls refried beans. Tolerating everything well. No nausea or other digestive issues. Still supplementing Protein with powder and shakes. Hope everyone is doing well. Take care. Respect the pouch! Respect it!! :-)

Had my surgery on Wednesday. Home on Friday. Still really, really sore. Sharp shooting pain in my lower left. Makes it hard to stand up straight. Doing ok if I'm just sitting. And I'm not nauseous and able to eat and drink, so that's good. Really wish I could get past the pain phase of this.

I had surgery on October 15th and felt pretty good while in the hospital. I began walking for 15 minutes the afternoon after surgery and walked a lot in the hospital. I didn't have much issue with gas. I stayed overnight and went home by noon the day after. Morphine was great. And they also added anti-nausea med and acetaminophen in IV.

Late afternoon of the day I went home, I felt nauseated and called the doc. Got a prescription for meds to handle that and for 2 days I only got a window of about 2 hours every eight that I didn't feel nauseated. I took Lortab for pain, but there really wasn't a lot of pain except for one of the upper right incisions. That incision continued to hurt deep, like a bruise, until late last week, 1-1/2 weeks after surgery. As long as I was sitting or lying flat I was okay. Since the pain wasn't relieved by the Lortab I stopped taking it 4 days after surgery.

Beginning with day 4-6 after surgery, I got in at least 48 oz of fluids and 40 grams of Protein. Beginning day 7 to present, I am doing 64 oz of fluids and 60 - 80 grams of Protein. All the significant amounts of protein are from Protein shakes and Isopure Zero Carb ready to drink. The pain in my side really lessened last Friday (1-1/2 weeks after surgery). I am very careful to only eat what is on my doc's list of foods and in the amount suggested. I've had absolutely NO food issues and no dumping. I'm having a BM about every day. I feel great and I've lost 30 lbs since October 1, which includes the 2 week liquid diet before surgery.

Breath deep, don't get anxious, don’t eat too fast and follow your doc's orders. It's worth it.

For these first few days home, try to stay ahead of the pain by taking the good meds on a schedule-set a timer if it will help.

My doc said as soon as I am not on pain medication any longer- he estimated that would be around the 2 week mark.

So question, I'm one week post-op tomorrow, and my scale hasn't moved at all. I've done really well staying hydrated, getting all my Protein in as the doc said and doing a lot of walking. Is this normal? I didn't expect to loose anything significant this week, but only taking in 300-400 calories a day, I did expect a lb or two.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
