Without the extra padding I'm feeling the bones in my butt. It's uncomfortable sitting on hard surfaces. I'm assuming, since thin people don't have this problem, that our backsides will gradually toughen up and the pains will go away. Even if it doesn't I'll take an achy boney butt over fat w/health problems, aches, and pains any day. :-)

Glad I'm not the only 1! It sux' date=' wish I had a butt again lol everything just sags like an old lady :([/quote'] I'm the same. I've had a butt my whole life. I was curvy. Now I have very little butt and saggy. Sitting back on hard chairs. I sit slowly due to my vertebrae and tailbone definitely having a lot less padding.

my tailbone, shoulderblade tips and knees will seriously actually get bruised if i sleep on them too much; i take care not to fall asleep on my back (protects the butt + shoulderblades), and i honestly stuff a pillow between my knees, so the bones don't bruise. i'm not even that skinny at all, but bones are new territory ;) i guess it can be painful to NOT be fat also...

oh, and do you do yoga / pilates by any chance? pilates without a THICK mat will aggravate my tailbone in like .05 seconds ;)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
