My program won't allow any salad for at least 6 months. I can eat small amounts of pretty much everything by 4 months though. Diversify your diet to get better nutrition. Contact your Nut for suggested foods. Check Eggface's blog for great recipes. Don't be scared to eat--just chew thoroughly and eat very small amounts at a time with adequate time in between and you'll see there is nothing to fear.

Great job! That amazing weight loss! Now my doc does not allow salad for quite a while either - but I know different doctors and nutritionists have different plans. I am sure your nutritionist has some ideas if you give her a call. For the first 6 months our big deal is to make sure we get in our 65grams of Protein and 65 ounces of water/liquid.

But here are some things I think you can try. Frittatas and scrambled eggs - you could throw in some diced ham and cheese - maybe turkey sausage. It is getting colder - so maybe time for some chili? Saw a recipe for pizza with a califlower crust on Pinterest that someone on here tried and said was great. I made some eggplant parm last night with roasted eggplant, parm cheese, spaghetti sauce, and eggs. It was great. Steamed fish.

Scroll through the recipe section..I posted some recipes there for stuff like crockpot carnitas, chicken quinoa salad, crockpot chicken and mushrooms, Mediterranean chicken, baked tilapia, etc. all good stuff and loaded with Protein and nutrients.

Try everything that is allowed by your docs plan. Try small bites at first and go from there. I would also say that things you did not like post op you may find you LOVE now. I was not big on Asian food pre op, but there was a time I felt like I could not get enough of it

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
