Quest Protein Bars

Recommended Posts

OMG I am really excited to have found these! I'm sure a lot of you know about them but I just discovered them. For those who haven't tried them, they are Protein Bars that taste good, are extremely low in sugar (2-3 grams), very satisfying and 20 grams of protein! Best of all, the original line has NO sugar alcohols whoo hooo! I really dont want to have two shakes a day forever and, I wanted something I could travel with when necessary. Awesome!

Yeah, they're pretty popular. Some say to put the Protein Bar in the microwave and nuke it for 2 min. Apparently, it tastes better.

I really like them but if I eat them every day they start to make me feel sick afterward so I limit them to a few a week

They r wonderful, but my weight has slowed since I have been eating them. Gonna give them up for a couple of weeks and see. Nike them for about 30 seconds and they are chewy instead of hard. GOOD

There shouldn't be anything in them that stalls you unless you are eating the ones with sugar alcohols. I don't buy those I stick to their original line. I'm just happy to not have to live on Protein shakes!

Everyone has different tastes. At this point, since I haven't had sugar in two months, they taste like a freaking sundae lol

I'm at the bottom of the sample pack, saved cinnamon roll for last tomorrow but had lemon this morning (anticipated hating it so keep putti it off) I was right, bleh! Reminded me of what lemon scented cleaner would taste like.

I feel the same way. Not the best tasting thing out there but they are good in a pinch. I'm 4 months out and still can't eat a whole one tho. They sit like bricks.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
