I'm almost four weeks post op so I thought I could go out to Breakfast with my family. I'm on soft foods so egg whites should be no problem, right? Wrong! I wasnt eating for five minutes when that all too familiar feeling hit me. Something was stuck. I was being super careful too. Thank God I live less than five minutes from the restaurant. I couldnt get out of there fast enough. When it did come up it was just thick foamy liquid(sorry). This happens almost every time I eat. Its so annoying.

Oh shame man! I had the same problems. Just hold out, suddenly at week 7 everything changed. It will get much better! Just focus on the weight going down, those first 2 months is the most rapid weightloss and it is such a good feeling! Then it steadies out and perhaps about 10 pounds per month. So focus on the positive of that! And good luck! I know it is not easy and also disheartening. I got very emotional. Hugs!

It gets better. I'm munching on almonds and cheez-its (I'm not saying that's a good thing...I'm just being honest). I'm almost 6 months out. I've never been as sick as I was on the egg. Put it into perspective of what that stomach and intestines have been through. You'll realize that four weeks is nothing. As mentioned above, just focus on the weight loss and enjoy it. Right now you're divorced from food. I didn't attempt eating out until after 4 months at least.

Except wendys chili. I was doing that way sooner.

I don't remember. As soon as my diet plan said I could have ground meat. Before that it was baked refried Beans with cheese and sour cream.

Sour cream? We can have that? I've been wanting some.

Yup, with my doc you can have low fat or fat free sour cream as soon as you go home from the hospital. I ate A LOT of retried Beans with cheese, salsa, and sour cream.

If I'm out too long and need to eat more than a Protein Bar I get a cup of chili from Wendy's. I haven't had a problem with it.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
