Fast Food

Recommended Posts

So when you have to do fast food what choices do you make? I decided on subway turkey on wheat today. I only ate a quarter of the bread along with the turkey and veggies. Boring....

I don't have a set place I go to. I look mainly for cost. Wendy's has a good dollar menu.

I can not handle sonic food for some reason, but love their ice and ice tea.

Unless I have absolutely no other choice than my to go fast food would be off that special list DL sent everybody.

I go for grilled chicken (forget the bread, no good), fruit cup, Wendy's chili, grilled chicken salad (lettuce usually ends up in the trash), chicken Soups (I ask for extra broth and less noodles), oatmeal cup, apple slices (BK), deli wraps, chicken wraps.

You know, whatever is safe and doesn't scream loaded in fat or dumping time.

I do not eat fast food but if I had no other choice I would go for the salads, or grilled chicken etc. etc. The FF places are offering more healthy choices now.

I'm per op and I stopped doing fast food many months ago. I try to eat clean.

I go for grilled chicken and toss the bun. I'll even do jr cheeseburgers and just toss the bun. I eat Chick-fil-a grilled nuggets and Wendy's chili. Nothing from Taco Bell. I do have my mister get extra mild sauce. I put it on Beans and meat at home and it makes authentic Taco Bell tasting food I can actually eat. The fruit and yogurt parfait at McDonald's. I've eaten a few fried chicken strips. Popeyes has naked chicken too.

Try the jimmy johns unwich- no bread and wrapped in lettuce, I have found food to eat at practically all fast food places except Taco Bell. I am also grain free so I order. Side salad and whatever burger or chicken and toss bun and put on top of salad. Favorite is McDonald side salad and deluxe quarter pounder no mayo, no cheese and cut up veggies and toss with salad---also the New York dog in a boat no bun at Sonic

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
