The kernels and/or the shell-like pieces that always get stuck in your teeth can get stuck in the staples of your pouch, requiring surgery. So we were told in the pre-op education class. I would avoid it until fully healed. Also, nutrition-wise, there is nothing in it we need. No Protein, little nutrients.
