This stall might kill me!

Recommended Posts

I know it's completely normal to have periods of no weight loss. I know everyone goes through it, but I feel like I've been stuck at this weight FOREVER & it's starting to freak me out!!!!!!!!!!! Any advice suggestions!? Sometimes I think I just need to be told "It's normal!" I am 2.5 months post-op & have lost 65lbs so far....is that good!? Should I be losing more!?

IT IS NORMAL!!!! You're doing great. Take a deep breath and chill. The only thing that breaks a stall is time, however, sometimes shaking up your routine can help. Add or subtract a coupe hundred calories for a couple weeks. Focus on weights instead of cardio for a couple weeks. If you're not exercising well darn it, you need to start! Pull get there, but it IS beyo d frustrating at times!!!!!

wlchart.rtfI think you are doing GREAT!...I stall out for so long only to have a few ounce loss and if i'm lucky a pound loss. I took a screen shot of my fitnesspal progress. It's so slow but at least it's going in the right direction.

Rapid weight loss, slow weight loss, stall - regardless of what's happening, your focus is ALWAYS the same. Follow the protocol as closely to the letter as you possibly can and allow your body to find its own way in its own time. Stay positive. Stay patient. Stay focused. The weight will take care of itself.

Frustration and stress are most certainly understandable. But they are also pointless. Consider focusing that energy on all of the amazing progress you have already achieved. And the even more amazing things yet to come!

You're doing a great job and you're gonna love the new you!!

What do you think a stall is? Losing as much as you have lost in 2.5 months does not constitute a stall. Really look at the big picture and stop worrying about the daily scale. You are doing great so stop worrying. I know it is hard trust me but you'll be so much happier if you just relax and enjoy the ride. :)

Thank you ladies all so much for the wonderful advice & words of encouragement. Sometimes it just helps knowing I'm not going through this alone!!! Definitely need to do a better job of putting things in perspective...my new favorite way of thinking is: Well what would that scale say if I hadn't gone through with the surgery!? I would have been even heavier than before I'm sure!

I would say 65lbs in 2.5 months is beyond awesome. I am strange and looked outward to my stalls in weight loss as it meant I got to go shopping again. I lost all my inches during my stalls. So think of it in terms as a new wardrobe is coming soon!!!

Also the more you stress the more your body will punish you with the stall. Our brains have a way of getting back at us! After all in the past you would be back to eating the "good stuff" when you hit a stall. Hang in there and get ready for a cute little red dress!

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
