Yoplait greek VS Chobani Greek Yorgurt

Recommended Posts

Do they all have Sucralose? Now that I have beaten the Soda monster, I don't want to replace it with fake sugar.

I was told that most of the light yogurts have aspartame in them. Fake sugar. I was told we could only have stevia. Is this not true after surgery?

Depends on your doc, not an issue with mine.

At my pre-sugery meeting with the hospital staff they said to get a few Chiobani-Champions. They are the small ones for kids.

I'm thinking maybe I will learn how to make my own. It's insanely easy as my mom always did it in the 70's.

Found the Dannon today at Stop&Shop in peach and cherry. It seems like a better choice - higher protein; lower sugar. My new yogurt! :-)

Yoplait Greek - 10gr protein; 9gr sugar

Dannon Greek - 12gr protein; 7gr sugar

The Chobani Little Champions are the perfect size for post-op. They're smaller and easier to finish a whole one. But, on the down side, there are very few flavors available.

I love the Dannon Light and Fit Greek yogurt. Today I found two flavors I want to try: pineapple and the Key Lime pie. I already like blueberry, peach, and strawberry. I'm so glad they make this yogurt in so many flavors so we have a nice variety. This brand was suggested by my dietician.

Love the Dannon Light and Fit Greek yogurt. My nut suggested these to me. They come in so many favors. The coconut vanilla, key lime and plain vanilla would be good soon after surgery. All very good!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
