You will do great!! I enjoyed every pre-op minute as I've enjoyed every minute post-op! I can't believe I am 5 months out, it has been the best decision I have ever made in my entire life!!! You will really do great. My best advice, walk, walk, walk... I read this advice before my surgery and now I understand why it is the best advice, it helps your intestines to work again and the gas to come out. The sipping is also extremely important. Drink all day long, my mom would even wake me up to drink some more, she was terrified of me getting dehydrated, now I appreciate her not letting me sleep all day long!

C'ya in the losers bench !!! :D

Thanks so much just wondering did anyone else feel like this was the wrong thing to do

I did 9 years ago when I first started thinking about RNY. However 14 months ago when I had surgery my mind was at ease and knew this was the right decision for my life. I had reached my breaking point when I could no longer wash personal areas in the shower. I knew then something must be done.

Why do you think you are having doubts?

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
