kparadisek 115 Posted September 2, 2013 Ok I'm tired of being dependent on everyone to leave the house. I'm one week post op and want to do out for a bit. Would u drive?
kraney 219 Posted September 2, 2013 I was ok'd to drive as soon as I was able to be off of pain meds. although a week out I was still letting hubby drive me because I got tired so easy. Other people on here must be driving after a week cause there are quite a few who go back to work. HW 229, SW 214, CW 153 RNY 3/14/
lisalisalisa 54 Posted September 2, 2013 They said 7 days but Kraney is right, you should be off the pain meds before you get behind the wheel.
kparadisek 115 Posted September 2, 2013 Great thanks! I'm 7 days out and have been off pain meds for 3 days. I get a little tired from time to time too but I've already taken my nap for the day. Thx! 1 lisalisalisa reacted to this

terry1118 1,274 Posted September 2, 2013 I was told no driving for one week. At my 1 week post op visit they asked if I was still taking pain meds. I wasn't so they okayed me to drive. My daughter drove me there, I took my keys back and drove home. It's against all the laws of nature to be a passenger while your child drives!!!! My nerves were shot and my leg was sore from stepping on that imaginary brake! Lol 1 kparadisek reacted to this
PittGuy 201 Posted September 2, 2013 Five days for me. I waited 24 hours after I quit pain meds.
kparadisek 115 Posted September 3, 2013 I drove for a little while and so all went well. I'm a little tired though from all the activities I did today. I feel I'm well enough to drive now so I'll be driving myself to the dr tomorrow.
bloreorbust 286 Posted September 3, 2013 I can barely handle riding so far, not sure how driving would go. All the breaking and acceleration makes me hurt and ache by the end of it.
