Pre-op diet starts tomorrow

Pre-op liquid diet starts tomorrow for 2-weeks preparation for surgery on Sept 16th. I can't believe it is soooo close. I had an incredible fight with insurance for 8-mths about this revision from band to RNY and I am finally near the finish, but really the new beginning.

Any tips on sticking to the liquid diet would be great. I really like this site, so much real-world information. Thanks everyone.

I would say keep in mind this is just a small part of your journey and it will pass. Also the first couple of days are the hardest!

Make sure that you have Protein Shakes that you can drink and don't hate. They go a super long way to keep you from being hungry during that time. The hardest part for me, and really, it still is, is my mouth feels yucky from not eating. Have popsicles, they are very soothing! broth tastes good when you aren't eating! The biggest thing I'd suggest though is that you focus on the goal. You fought so hard to get this revision, do not blow it by cheating on the diet! You dont want to give insurance any excuse to back out. My biggest fear was the surgeon would go in, my liver would be too big and he'd close me up without doing the bypass. It kept me honest lol.
