mrs.katie 27 Posted September 1, 2013 I'm 11 days out and I can't find anything that seems appealing, food-wise. I have tried all sorts of things but the thought of eating sort of makes me nauseous. Is anyone else having this problem? It is like my taste buds were exchanged during surgery. I don't like artificial sweeteners, and they never bothered me before. Artificial colors and flavors are present in all the Jello, puddings, and Popsicles so there really isn't a way around them, but they make everything taste god-awful. Am I going crazy? My first thing was salsa on cottage cheese...go figure. Lol but i still remember thinking it was heavenly. music1618 879 Posted September 1, 2013 Yeah you are normal. I find that I go through phases with food. I want something so much that it is all I want. That goes on for about 2-3 weeks and then I don't want it anymore.
ArmyOfMe 82 Posted September 1, 2013 Agreed with the wise folk above me. Don't despair, as you heal, you'll notice you will slowly get your interest in food back. I also go thru phases. To give ya an example: after surgery as soon as I felt better, Laughing Cow cheese wedges were my favorites. Ate them daily for weeks. Today? Forget it. I have no interest in them. But, I am nuts about grilled chicken Caesar salad. I could eat it every day if I allowed myself, granted I only eat the chicken and play around with the rest. Point is: you will like something for a couple of days, and later, you will not want to hear or think of it but you will replace that food with another one and so on. WLS changes us completely. mrs.katie 27 Posted September 1, 2013 Thank you all for validating my weirdness. I can't figure out what I want, hopefully I will soon though. Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk
